Puerto Rico to receive nearly $10 billion from FEMA to rebuild its grid

The Federal Emergency Management Administration approved $9.6 billion for the Puerto Rico Electrical Power Authority to repair damage to its electric grid caused by Hurricane Maria in 2017 and bring the system up to standards to be capable of withstanding future hurricanes.

Bellwether Management Solutions has been selected by Central EMC, in Sanford, NC, to provide AMI Meter Installation and Project Management services as part of CEMC's Smart Grid Project. The deployment of approximately 20,000 meters will begin in March of 2020 and is anticipated to be complete in February of 2021.
