The American Public Power Association is helping member utilities across the country create a more resilient and secure electric grid that is prepared for both cyber and physical threats. Public power utilities are in a unique position to lead the transition to an increasingly resilient grid, and work closely with the federal government to ensure compliance with stringent security standards.

Cybersecurity Scorecard

We created a self-assessment tool called the public power Cybersecurity Scorecard, based on the DOE Electricity Subsector Cybersecurity Capability Maturity Model (ES-C2M2). The scorecard is designed for small to mid-sized public power utilities that are starting to evaluate their cybersecurity program. The scorecard helps a utility understand its security posture, and provides a starting point to address cyber risks. For more information about the Scorecard, click here.
