Austin Energy added a record 18.8 megawatts (MW) of new local solar power to the grid this year -- "an unprecedented achievement that reflects Austin’s growing investment in renewable energy, community collaboration and innovation," it noted on Nov. 10.

The Sacramento Municipal Utility District has been recognized with the 2025 North American Pollinator Protection Campaign Electric Power Award for the utility’s sustainable land management work at Pine Hill Preserve.
