The Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation (DEMEC) recently hosted two events that celebrated the innovation, expertise, and collaboration driving public power forward — the Tool & Truck Expo and the Lineworker Rodeo demonstration.
At the Tool & Truck Expo, crews, vendors, and members from across the region gathered for a day of hands-on learning, networking, and exploring new ideas. Attendees experienced the latest advancements in safety gear, tools, and equipment — all designed to enhance efficiency and performance in the field.
"Interactive displays and live tool demonstrations brought innovation to life, reinforcing DEMEC’s mission to deliver safe, reliable public power to the communities we serve," it said.
"The energy carried over to the Lineworker Rodeo demonstration, where three talented teams from the City of Dover showcased their strength, skill, and precision in a friendly competition focused on safety and teamwork. Each climb and restoration highlighted the dedication and craftsmanship that keep our communities powered."
This event also marked the official launch of DEMEC’s first-ever Lineworker Rodeo, coming in Fall 2026 — "an exciting milestone that will further celebrate the skill and commitment of our member utilities’ crews."
From innovative tools to skilled demonstrations, "one message rang clear: progress happens when we work together. DEMEC extends a heartfelt thank-you to our members, vendors, and especially the City of Dover teams, for making these events both memorable and inspiring," DEMEC noted in a news release.
