Grant PUD Commissioners pitched in the first, ceremonial shovels full of dirt on Aug. 26 to break ground for Grant PUD’s new Ephrata Service Center, a major milestone that will prepare this 87-year-old public utility with the space, agility and facilities to safely and more efficiently respond to day-to-day operations, maintenance work, connection requests and emergent outages well into the future, the Washington State PUD reported.

With assistance from the state’s Department of Commerce and $5.3 million in funding, Snohomish County PUD helped more than 1,400 households in Snohomish County and Camano Island receive free energy-efficient appliances.

The Reading Municipal Light Department (RMLD) and the RMLD Board of Commissioners announced that Paul Heanue will serve as interim general manager, effective August 25, 2025.

Wärtsilä will supply its flexible engine technology for a new 217-megawatt power plant to be installed in Nebraska. The contract has been awarded by Nebraska Public Power District.

Both S&P Global Ratings and Fitch Ratings have affirmed OMPA’s "A" credit ratings with a stable outlook, underscoring the organization’s financial strength, operational reliability, and commitment to serving its 43 member communities.

At its August 18 Board Meeting, the Okanogan County PUD Board of Commissioners unanimously appointed Randy Bird as the utility’s next General Manager.
