The Salt River Project Board of Directors on Nov. 3 approved converting the SRP-owned coal-fired Springerville Generating Station (SGS) Unit 4 to run on natural gas. The decision is the lowest-cost option to preserve the plant’s 400-megawatt (MW) generating capacity, enough to serve 90,000 homes

Together with United Way of the Midlands, Nebraska’s Omaha Public Power District announced the latest recipients of Greener Together grant funding, with a total of $225,000 awarded to three separate community projects.

Fifteen public power utilities have been recognized by the American Public Power Association (APPA) with 2025 Public Power Customer Satisfaction Awards for providing excellent service to their communities, while fourteen public power utilities have earned a Smart Energy Provider (SEP) designation from APPA.
