The House Energy & Commerce Committee’s Energy Subcommittee recently held a hearing titled, “Oversight of FERC: Advancing Affordable and Reliable Energy for All Americans.” Topics covered in the hearing included reliability, cybersecurity and data centers. John Hairston, who has served as administrator and CEO of the Bonneville Power Administration since January 2021, is announcing his retirement from federal service, BPA reported on Feb. 6. The Board of Commissioners for the Eugene Water & Electric Board recently voted to select Hairston as EWEB’s next general manager.
