During its monthly meeting held this month, the Kissimmee Utility Authority board of directors held its annual election of officers.

The board elected the following members who hold the following officer positions:

Chairman: Melissa Thacker
Vice Chairman: Rae Hemphill
Secretary: Reginald Hardee 
Assistant Secretary: Michele Lebron

Director: Manuel Ortega

The six-member board sets policy direction for the Florida public power utility. Specifically, the board approves annual budgets, sets rates and approves major purchases. 

The board also directs the president and general manager who is responsible for day-to-day operations of the utility.

Founded in 1901, KUA is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility powering 100,000 customers in Osceola County, Florida.
