The Northern California Power Agency (NCPA), on behalf of eight of its member participants, has entered into a 20-year Energy Storage Service Agreement (ESSA) with Aypa Power for the Trolley Battery Energy Storage System (Trolley BESS) in San Bernardino County, Calif.

Thirty-three individuals have completed the APPA Academy’s Key Accounts Certificate Program in the past year. The graduates were honored during APPA’s annual Customer Connections Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Tech companies are starting to recognize that they can’t just arrive in a community and expect utilities “to solve their problems” as it relates to the development of data centers, said Mike Dammer, Manager of Emerging Technology at Florida public power utility Lakeland Electric.

The Salt River Project Board of Directors on Nov. 3 approved converting the SRP-owned coal-fired Springerville Generating Station (SGS) Unit 4 to run on natural gas. The decision is the lowest-cost option to preserve the plant’s 400-megawatt (MW) generating capacity, enough to serve 90,000 homes
