Public power utility crews from across the U.S. have deployed to Florida in advance of the arrival of Hurricane Milton, which is projected to make landfall in central Florida Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
Crews from the following Missouri public power utility communities have deployed to Orlando, Fla.:
- MPUA RSC
- Nixa
- Hannibal
- Kennett
- Poplar Bluff
- Chillicothe
- Harrisonville
- Higginsville
- Fulton
- Carthage
- Macon
- CU Springfield
- Lebanon
In addition, crews from the following Kansas public power communities and utilities have deployed to Orlando (coordinated through Kansas Municipal Utilities):
- Pratt
- Baldwin City
- Russell
- Clay Center PUC
- Kansas City BPU
- Augusta
- Ottawa
- Winfield
Also deployed to Orlando are crews from Connecticut and Massachusetts (through the Northeast Public Power Association) and crews organized by the Michigan Municipal Electric Association. Crews from Holland, Mich. also deployed to Orlando.
And the Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association deployed crews from public power utilities across Minnesota to Kissimmee, Fla., prior to the arrival of Milton.
Crews from Cedar Falls and Muscatine, Iowa have deployed to Winter Park, Fla., as have crews from Paducah, Ky.
Crews from Frankfort, Ky., have deployed to Mount Dora, Fla., while crews organized by Ohio-based AMP have deployed to Lakeland, Fla.
