President Trump on July 17 nominated David LaCerte to be a member of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for the remainder of a term expiring June 30, 2026.

LaCerte would fill the FERC seat vacated by Willie Phillips, who resigned from FERC in April of this year.

LaCerte is currently Principal White House Liaison and Senior Advisor to the Office of Personnel Management Director.

LaCerte’s nomination has been referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.

FERC Chairman Mark Christie announced on June 2 that he had learned that President Trump had nominated Laura Swett to replace him when his term expires.

Swett, a former FERC staffer who was a senior legal advisor to Commissioner Bernard McNamee, is currently practicing law at Vinson & Elkins where she primarily represents pipeline companies.
