The Navajo Tribal Utility Authority recently announced that an NTUA employee has been crowned as the 2025-2026 Miss Navajo Nation.

Miss Navajo Nation is recognized as the cultural goodwill ambassador of the Navajo Nation, representing the values of the Navajo people as she educates on Navajo history, traditions, and culture to increase understanding both on and off the Navajo Nation while preserving and revitalizing the Navajo language and traditional customs for future generations.

Camille Uentillie worked with the NTUA GIS Data information department and made the decision in July 2025 to start preparing for the competition.

The contestants are expected to demonstrate fluency in Navajo language, have knowledge of Navajo culture/customs, tribal governance and history.

The Navajo Nation is a matrilineal society and the requirements for Miss Navajo demonstrate the strength and responsibility carried by Navajo women as caretakers of language, land, and traditions.

Uentillie competed against three other contestants in a week-long competition and on Saturday, September 6, 2025, she was unanimously awarded the prestigious crown of Miss Navajo Nation.

Because her new role is a full-time year-long commitment she resigned from NTUA.

NTUA General Manager Walter “Wally” Haase thanked her for her valuable contributions to help provide life-essential utility services to benefit the Navajo people.

He and the NTUA management team wished her every success and safe travels in her new role.
