The Lansing Board of Water & Light, a Michigan public power utility, will host a series of open houses to gather feedback on the new Integrated Resource Plan.

The IRP “will support the ongoing commitment to cleaner energy while maintaining affordable and reliable power for customers. At the open houses, citizens will be encouraged to offer input and suggestions, plus speak with BWL staff members on topics including generation challenges and clean energy initiatives,” the utility.

“This IRP process is a necessary step in energy planning, as the end result will guide how we deliver power to our customers well into the future,” said BWL General Manager Dick Peffley.

“It also gives our customers an opportunity to learn about and be part of the planning process. As we continue to move toward cleaner energy sources, we need to stay mindful of our customers’ top priority, which they have communicated to us repeatedly, and that’s to maintain affordable and reliable power,” he said.

The final IRP is expected to be presented to the BWL Board of Commissioners in January 2026.
