Texas public power utility Kerrville Public Utility Board on July 8 said that it had restored remaining major power outage areas across West Kerr County as of July 7.
As of 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 7, just 140 customers remained without power.
KPUB has been hard at work on power restoration efforts in the wake of the catastrophic flooding that devastated the Hill Country region.
Crews continued working July 8 to address small and individual outages throughout its service area. Crews will be on-site at all remaining outage locations July 8, assessing each location to determine whether conditions are safe for restoration.

Homes that can safely receive electricity are estimated to have their service restored July 8.
“For customers whose homes have unsafe conditions that prevent restoration, we will work closely with them to determine their next steps toward safely restoring power. This may include coordination with a licensed electrician as part of the process for non-KPUB equipment,” it said.
Customers still without power are encouraged to contact KPUB directly. “Because KPUB’s outage reporting system in the Hunt area sustained storm damage, direct reports are essential to ensure all affected homes are accounted for. Customers may also message KPUB through its official Facebook page.”
“This is a tragedy for our entire community,” said KPUB General Manager & CEO Mike Wittler. “Our top priority is the safety of our customers and employees while working as quickly as possible to restore electric service to our customers still without power.”
“Customers have lost entire homes, loved ones, and livelihoods -- businesses are unable to operate, and families are facing the daunting task of recovery. We recognize the financial strain this disaster has caused for so many and are committed to supporting our neighbors through this recovery,” said Wittler.
“In response to the tragedy and the hardship many of our neighbors are facing, KPUB is taking immediate steps to support customers recovering from flood damage. Effective immediately, KPUB is waiving all service transfer fees for customers who have lost their homes or need to relocate due to damage,” KPUB noted. The utility is also temporarily suspending disconnections for non-payment to ensure that no customer loses access to electric service during this critical time.
“KPUB extends its heartfelt appreciation to the community for its continued patience, strength, and support,” it said.
