A surplus line truck vehicle donation from the Grand River Dam Authority will soon help boost the mission of the High Voltage Line Program at the Oklahoma State University Institute.

On Wednesday, November 19, at the Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology (Okmulgee), GRDA donated an Altec Digger Derrick Line Truck to the High Voltage Line Program. Previously utilized by GRDA, the vehicle was declared surplus and made available for donation purposes.

“We are excited to make this donation in support of OSUIT,” said GRDA President/CEO Dan Sullivan.  “Workforce development is important to the future of the electric industry and this truck supports that effort, to help train tomorrow’s electric line workers.”

GRDA is Oklahoma’s largest public power utility; fully funded by revenues from electric and water sales instead of taxes. Each day, GRDA strives to be an “Oklahoma agency of excellence” by focusing on the 5 E’s: employees, electricity, economic development, environmental stewardship, and efficiency.
