Alabama public power utility Riviera Utilities has received $800,000 for its Coastal Wastewater Resiliency Improvement Project.

“This investment will help Riviera make improvements that add another layer of protection and resiliency to our wastewater system and the natural resources around us,” it noted.

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey recently announced more than $52 million in GoMESA funding for 21 projects across Coastal Alabama including the Coastal Wastewater Resiliency Improvement Project.

Riviera Utilities said it is grateful to Ivey and Commissioner of Conservation Chris Blankenship “for their leadership, support, and commitment to investing in the future of Coastal Alabama,” adding: “We’re proud to play a small part in a much bigger effort to keep our coast strong, resilient, and thriving.”
