The American Public Power Association has officially received an additional $5 million in funding it sought related to the ICS CyberShield program through the Department of Energy’s CESER office.

ICS CyberShield supports deployment of OT cybersecurity sensors at public power utilities that serve 50,000 meters or more.

To date, 26 public power utilities have received almost $5 million for these projects, APPA notes on its website.
The additional funding will be used mainly to improve the cybersecurity of members that are serving military installations.

The agreement will now run through Sept. 30, 2028.
