Webinar Overview
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued its long-awaited proposed greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) rules which establish performance standards for existing, new, modified, and reconstructed power plants. This briefing will discuss several of EPA’s proposed regulatory actions; the proposed emissions limits for new natural gas combustion turbines; standards for modified coal units, the repeal of the Affordable Clean Energy Rule, and proposed emission guidelines for existing coal steam and natural gas plants.
Participants will discuss the implications of EPA’s proposed approach of setting the best system of emission reductions based on carbon capture and sequestration and co-firing with low GHG hydrogen for several subcategories. In addition, we will discuss the proposed flexibility for certain plants, such as those with scheduled retirements or “peaker” plants. The webinar will also discuss how compliance flexibility may be incorporated into any state plan.
