Bonds and Financing
The U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of Treasury, and the Internal Revenue Service announced $4 billion in tax credits for over 100 projects across 35 states to accelerate domestic clean energy manufacturing and reduce greenhouse gas emissions at industrial facilities.
Generation
The Tennessee Valley Authority will retire its Kingston Fossil Plant in Tennessee and build a state-of-the-art energy complex at the site by the end of 2027. To replace the generation, TVA will build an energy complex that will house at least 1,500 megawatts of combined cycle and dual-fuel Aeroderivative natural gas combustion turbines with 100 megawatts of battery storage and up to 4 megawatts of solar generation at the Kingston location.
Generation
Blue Wave AI Labs has successfully deployed machine learning tools at two nuclear power plants in the U.S. operated by Constellation, saving the company millions of dollars per reactor each year. The project was part of a $6 million effort supported by the Department of Energy to help lower the operating costs of nuclear power plants using the latest artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies.   
Environment
The Imperial Irrigation District has been awarded $7 million in grant funds from the Department of the Interior in support of the district’s proposed Upstream Operational Reservoir Project, which would be the largest reservoir ever constructed in the Imperial Valley during IID’s history as an irrigation district. The announcement was recently made by the Interior Department.
Community Engagement
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul recently announced low-cost power awards to 11 firms that her office said will spur more than $5.2 billion in capital investments. The awards were approved by the New York Power Authority Board of Trustees.
