The Port of Seattle, Wash., on April 22 released its Seattle Waterfront Clean Energy Strategy assessing the power infrastructure investments and strategies needed to support the electrification of buildings, vehicles, vessels, and equipment on Port-owned properties.

Reliability
To increase power reliability and reduce potential safety risks ahead of summer, Arizona public power utility Salt River Project partnered with the cities of Apache Junction and Chandler to remove 59 trees growing too close to power lines and planted 264 new trees as part of its Right Tree, Right Place program.
Transmission
In a landmark decision, the Public Utility Commission of Texas on April 24 approved a plan to build the Electric Reliability Council of Texas region’s first extra high voltage transmission lines to meet the Permian Basin’s rapidly growing power needs.
