City of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Idaho, council members, Mayor Rebecca Noah Casper and other members of city staff recently had the opportunity to tour an Idaho Falls Power Peaking Plant site with Idaho Falls Power employees to see the latest progress.
The City Council of public power community Harbor Springs, Mich., recently voted to adopt a resolution issuing a Notice of Intent letting the community know that there is a proposed bond issue for paying part of the cost of acquiring, constructing, furnishing and equipping improvements to the city’s electric system, including a new electric substation and transmission line improvements.

Kentucky public power utility Henderson Municipal Power & Light recently issued a request for offers to interested parties with the intent of securing up to 75 MW of long-term energy and capacity to serve its native load beginning June 1, 2027.
Public power utilities are included in a new global consortium -- the Open Power AI Consortium – launched by the Electric Power Research Institute to drive the development and deployment of an open AI model tailored for the power sector.

Omaha Public Power District President and CEO Javier Fernandez recently announced his selection of Brad Underwood, the utility’s current vice president of Systems Transformation, to assume duties of Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. He will now lead both business units as one newly integrated team.
