Village of Bergen, N.Y., Receives State Funding for Grid Upgrades

The Village of Bergen, N.Y., has received $1.26 million from Empire State Development for a project that will support electrical infrastructure upgrades.

The upgrades include improvements to an electrical substation and distribution lines, which will increase capacity to serve anticipated load growth.

The upgrades will allow Apple Tree Acres Corporate Park to further develop an additional 47 shovel ready acres intended for future manufacturing.

Bergen’s electric department was established in 1909 and now serves over 600 customers. It purchases power from the New York Power Authority and New York Municipal Power Authority.
