Santee Cooper Seeks Generation Resources Through RFP

Through a request for proposals, Santee Cooper is seeking additional generation resources to add to its portfolio to meet expected load growth in their service territory starting January 1, 2026.

Santee Cooper is requesting proposals for firm capacity and energy from dispatchable resources for delivery to its load in the Santee Cooper balancing authority.

Santee Cooper is the state-owned public power utility in South Carolina.

Santee Cooper is not interested in solar PV resources or Battery Energy Storage Systems as a response to this RFP, as future solar PV resources and BESS will be procured through a separate competitive bid.

Santee Cooper prefers transactions in the form of a build-transfer, asset acquisition, or other structured products including power purchase agreement and tolling PPAs.

The Energy Authority is the administrator of the RFP.

The deadline to submit a response is by 11:59 EPT on February 14, 2025.
