Manitowoc Public Utilities Community Solar Garden is Now Operational

Wisconsin public power utility Manitowoc Public Utilities on Dec. 10 announced that its Community Solar Garden is now operational

MPU, in conjunction with a developer, built a 1,500 KW community solar generation facility.

After many months of construction, the developer commissioned the solar garden inverters, and the solar panels began to produce energy the morning of December 10, 2024.

“We’re so proud to bring this Community Solar Program to our customers. This is a first-of-its-kind program in the State of Wisconsin, which allows any good-standing MPU electric customer, owner or renter, the opportunity to experience the benefits of solar generation with no upfront cost,” the utility said.
