Justin E. Driscoll is now the permanent President and CEO of the New York Power Authority and the New York State Canal Corporation pursuant to Sections 1004A and 2852 of the New York Public Authorities Law, NYPA confirmed on Aug, 10.
Driscoll “has established an outstanding record of accomplishment over the last two years when he was acting President and CEO,” said Susan A. Craig, Director for Media Relations and Corporate Communications at NYPA.
“He will now lead NYPA in its aggressive and continuing efforts to combat climate change, pursue the bold decarbonization objectives of Governor Kathy Hochul and the Legislature, and prepare New York’s iconic canal system for a third century of operation,” Craig said.
Hochul in July 2022 recommended that Driscoll serve as President and CEO of NYPA. Driscoll was appointed by NYPA's Board of Trustees to serve as Interim President and CEO in October 2021. Driscoll’s permanent status took effect on July 26, 2023.
Driscoll previously served as chief legal officer of NYPA.
