Webinar Overview

Receive an overview of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Clean Water Act (CWA) Hazardous Substance Facility Response Plans final rule. The final rule requires certain facilities to develop facility response plans for a worst-case discharge of CWA hazardous substances or threat of such a discharge. The facility response plan requirements apply to facilities that could reasonably be expected to cause substantial harm to the environment based on their proximity to navigable waters, adjoining shorelines, or exclusive economic zone. The lower reportable quantity threshold could require previously unaffected utilities to prepare and submit response plans for worst-case discharges or potential threats of such discharges. Further, utilities subject to these regulations may need to amend their plans to incorporate the new requirements. Webinar participants will learn about the rule’s major provisions and scope and engage with EPA on issues related to implementation.
