Energy Storage
Energy Vault Holdings Inc. on Nov. 8 announced plans for the deployment of a 57 MW/114 MWh Battery Energy Storage System in Scurry County, Texas, as well as the signing of a 10-year offtake agreement with Gridmatic, an AI-enabled power marketer.
Generation
The Tennessee Valley Authority -- together with Argo Infrastructure Partners, LP and Brookfield Asset Management and its affiliate Brookfield Renewable -- announced the signing of a 10-year power purchase agreement with power to be delivered by the Cheoah, Calderwood, Chilhowee and Santeetlah dams, together known as the Smoky Mountain Hydroelectric facilities, which is jointly owned by Argo and Brookfield.

American Public Power Association President and CEO Scott Corwin and Large Public Power Council President Tom Falcone recently wrote the Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service asking for an immediate extension of a safe harbor for claiming statutory exceptions to the domestic content requirements for elective pay.

Nebraska Public Power District’s board of directors approved a two percent rate increase for retail rates and no overall increase for wholesale rates for 2025, during a recent meeting.
Energy Efficiency
The New York Power Authority on Nov. 19 announced a first-of-its-kind agreement with the United States Army. The signed Memorandum of Understanding allows NYPA and the U.S. Army to collaborate on new opportunities that advance the Army’s decarbonization initiatives at military facilities in New York State.
Transmission
The North American Electric Reliability Corporation on Nov. 19 filed an interregional Transfer Capability Study with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, in advance of a December 2 deadline.
Reliability
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul on Nov. 18 announced $22 million is now available for projects that strengthen and modernize New York’s electric grid.
