Request for Proposals for MISO-qualified Capacity
WPPI is a joint action agency serving 51 customer-owned electric utilities (members) in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Iowa. These utilities purchase their electrical requirements from WPPI and supply power to more than 200,000 homes and businesses. WPPI has a peak demand of approximately 1,050 MW and an annual energy requirement of approximately 5.2 million MWh. WPPI has a diverse portfolio of power supply resources, including thermal generation owned by WPPI and its members and unit and system power purchased from other parties. Approximately 90 percent of WPPI member load is in MISO Local Resource Zone (LRZ) 2, and the remainder in MISO LRZs 1 and 3. WPPI has generating resources in LRZs 1, 2, 3, 4, and in PJM.
