The Vermont Public Power Supply Authority has entered into agreement with GF Power LLC, a subsidiary of GlobalFoundaries, to provide administrative and market participation services in support of GF’s operations at its facility in Essex Junction.
 
Under the agreement, VPPSA will act as the load serving entity and lead market participant for GF Power’s resources in the ISO New England wholesale electricity markets.

VPPSA will manage key administrative functions for GF Power including analyzing and recommending procurement decisions, day-ahead scheduling, settlement services, energy and capacity contract management, and compliance with Vermont’s Renewable Energy Standard. VPPSA’s will ensure market registration, performance monitoring, and central dispatch settlement on behalf of GF Power.

VPPSA’s board of directors unanimously approved the agreement, recognizing the strategic benefits for both VPPSA and GF Power.
 
This collaboration represents another step forward in VPPSA’s mission to provide reliable power supply, market expertise, and essential administrative services to Vermont’s public power communities and trusted partners, VPPSA said.

VPPSA is a joint action agency that provides wholesale power supply, market representation, and administrative services to 11 municipal electric utilities across Vermont. VPPSA’s mission is to strengthen and support Vermont’s publicly owned utilities by delivering cost-effective power supply and innovative energy solutions.
