In late July, the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority announced that the WAPA Governing Board appointed Karl Knight as the new CEO/Executive Director of the Authority.

“Recognizing the pivotal role the Authority plays in the quality of life for residents and the operational success of local businesses, Knight is dedicated to driving major initiatives already in the pipeline as developed within the Strategic Plan towards financial stability,” the public power utility said. “These initiatives are designed to ensure long-term sustainability and financial stability for WAPA with the goal of reducing the cost of electricity for customers.”

As part of his commitment to fostering a stronger connection with the community, Knight will prioritize public engagement, ensuring that the Authority maintains open lines of communication and keeps residents informed about progress and developments, the utility said.
