David Tichinel, Utilities Manager for the City of Clintonville, Wisconsin, recently provided details on the city’s new utility building, which houses both water and electric staff and opened in March 2025.
The facility was built due to lack of space, and safety concerns of staff. The old utility building was 100 years old. Although the building was maintained very well through the years, “it was not the most energy efficient, not ADA compliance, and we just needed more space,” he said.
“We also wanted to combine all of our resources in one area to make response times more efficient,” he noted.
During this month’s Public Power Week, a Touch-A-Truck event occurred, which also provided an opportunity for customers to tour the new facility.
There were guest speakers and tours of the new facility and it “was met with very positive reviews from the public in attendance.”
