The U.S. Senate on Oct. 7 voted 51 – 47 to approve  S. Res. 412, an en bloc package of roughly 100 nominees, including confirming the nominations of Laura Swett and David LaCerte to be Federal Energy Regulatory Commission commissioners.

In August, President Trump named David Rosner Chairman of FERC. Rosner joined FERC as a Commissioner in June 2024.

The appointment to the chair position is expected to be temporary until the President’s two nominees for FERC, Swett and LaCerte, are confirmed by the Senate. It is widely expected that Swett will become the permanent chair.

With Swett and LaCerte confirmed, FERC is now fully staffed with five commissioners.
