The Public Service Commission of Yazoo City in Mississippi announced the launch of its Employee Support Program, a new initiative aimed at providing financial assistance to customers who are experiencing hardship and struggling to pay their utility bills.

Funded entirely through voluntary contributions made by PSCYC employees, the program reflects the organization’s deep commitment to community service and compassion, the public power utility noted.

The Employee Support Program is designed to offer short-term, emergency relief for customers who meet specific eligibility criteria and demonstrate a genuine need.

“The people we serve are more than just customers, they are our neighbors, friends, and family,” said Dennis McFee, CEO/General Manager of PSCYC. “This program is a heartfelt effort from our employees to give back to the community and support those going through difficult times.”

A committee of PSCYC employees has been appointed to review applications, ensure program transparency, and maintain the integrity of the selection process. Customers seeking assistance must complete an application and provide documentation of financial hardship. Awards will be granted based on need and available funds.

The Employee Support Program is one of several community-focused initiatives launched by PSCYC to build a stronger, more resilient Yazoo City, it noted.
