The Piqua Power System in Ohio recently completed its annual pole top and bucket rescue training in partnership with American Municipal Power, Inc.
“The training is a critical component of the department’s safety program, ensuring that lineworkers are prepared to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations,” the public power utility for Piqua, Ohio, said.
The training simulates scenarios where a crew member becomes incapacitated while working in a bucket truck or while climbing a utility pole. Fellow crew members practice rescue techniques to safely lower the individual and provide immediate aid.
“Safety is at the core of everything we do,” Piqua Power System Director RJ Monnier said. “This training not only reinforces the skills our lineworkers need but also strengthens our ability to respond as a team when seconds matter.”
The annual training underscores the xity’s ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe, reliable electric system for residents and businesses.
By partnering with AMP, Piqua Power System ensures its employees receive hands-on instruction and the latest industry guidance from a trusted power supply partner.
