The Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority announced that Assistant General Manager Jennifer (Rogers) Smith has been selected to serve as Chair of the American Public Power Association’s Demonstration of Energy & Efficiency Developments (DEED) Board of Directors.
Smith was selected during the Fall 2026 DEED Board Meeting.
Smith has served on the DEED Board since spring 2022, representing Region 4, which includes Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. She previously served as Vice Chair and will now lead the board in supporting research, innovation and professional development opportunities for public power utilities nationwide.
The DEED program provides funding for research, pilot projects, scholarships and educational initiatives aimed at improving the operations and services of public power utilities. The board, consisting of 11 directors representing regions across the United States, helps guide the program’s direction and evaluates grant and scholarship applications.
Smith’s selection reflects OMPA’s continued involvement in national public power initiatives and its commitment to advancing innovation and collaboration within the industry, OMPA noted.
