The New York Power Authority was recently named a Best Midsize American Employer by Forbes Magazine.

The Power Authority earned a high ranking as the No. 10 best place to work out of 500 companies and was ranked first within the utility industry.

“We’re extremely proud to again receive recognition on the Forbes Best Midsize Employer list for the second consecutive year, strengthening our history of being honored on this list,” said Senior Vice President of Human Resources Karina Saslow. “What makes it meaningful is that it’s grounded in employee feedback and recommendations. The Power Authority is focused on continuously enhancing our workplace so that it is an organization where employees can build meaningful careers, take on complex and important projects that benefit New Yorkers, and feel supported with professional development opportunities and comprehensive benefits.”

Forbes partners with market research firm Statista to create the list using feedback from employees. Anonymous responses are surveyed on a range of criteria including salary, work environment, training programs and opportunities to advance. More than 217,000 employees working at U.S. companies with more than 1,000 people were surveyed.

"NYPA’s workforce includes individuals with a diverse range of skills, including engineers, mechanics, security professionals, electricians, project managers, environmental scientists, data analysts, cloud engineers, financial analysts, energy traders, stakeholder outreach professionals, and many others," NYPA noted.
