Texas public power utility New Braunfels Utilities announced that its new Participating Solar Contractor Program will launch on March 1, 2024.

“Aimed at revolutionizing the way individuals and businesses harness the power of solar energy in our region, this program represents a significant leap forward in NBU’s commitment to customer-first support and resilient energy services,” the utility said.

Under the Participating Solar Contractor Program, New Braunfels Utilities will now require contractors who intend to offer the NBU Solar Rebate to enroll in the new Participating Solar Contractor Program. Contractors must undergo annual training sessions and reviews to maintain eligibility for participation in the program and to ensure all participants comply with NBU’s program guidelines.

In addition, NBU now has dedicated staff to support customers throughout their solar power journey. Additionally, the NBU Solar Rebate has been adjusted to offer payouts to a broader number of solar installations.

Also, an updated NBU solar-focused webpage (www.nbutexas.com/solar-energy) provides customers with easy-to-navigate information and answers to solar-related questions, along with a step by step process of solar connection and available rebates.

An online customer education course has also been created to provide guidance to those interested in solar energy for their home or business. Additionally, the webpage will serve as a resource for contractors, offering clear insights into the NBU solar interconnection process, NBU said.
