A group of linemen for Winter Park, Florida, recently participated in a story time at the Winter Park Library.
Recently, in collaboration with the Winter Park Library, the city launched “Big Truck Stories.”
Linemen from Winter Park Electric were the featured readers for January’s story time which included hands-on activities after the books were read.
The linemen brought trucks and activities the kids could participate in like practicing closing a switchgear.
Another special feature of this story time was that most of the utility’s linemen are bilingual, so one of them requested to read in Spanish.
The library hosts a bilingual story time once a month and has asked the Winter Park crew to come back to be a featured speaker at one of those in the future.
