KUA, FMPA Recognized with Top Workplace Awards

Kissimmee Utility Authority, a Florida public power utility, and the Florida Municipal Power Agency have been recognized by the Orlando Sentinel with Top Workplace awards.

Florida Municipal Power Agency received a Top Workplaces of Central Florida award, presented by the Orlando Sentinel Media Group. This is the fifth consecutive year that FMPA has been recognized as a Top Workplaces recipient, FMPA noted on Sept. 30.

“Our team is dedicated to living our mission to provide low-cost, reliable power to our members and their communities,” said Jacob Williams, CEO and general manager of FMPA. “It’s essential to us that our team members are engaged with our mission and feel included, not only in our office, but in something bigger than themselves. Receiving a spot on the Top Workplace list again validates we’re doing something right.”

The award was presented on September 27 at a recognition luncheon hosted by the Orlando Sentinel media group.

“It’s a tremendous honor for FMPA to be recognized as a Central Florida Top Workplace for the fifth year in a row,” Sharon Adams, chief people and member services officer at FMPA, said. “This is an opportunity to hear from our team each year to better understand their level of engagement in serving our members. Our team is very passionate about our mission and serving the communicates throughout Florida. That’s a consistent theme in the feedback we get from the survey.”

Recipients of the Top Workplaces award are selected based on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The confidential survey uniquely measures 15 culture drivers that are critical to the success of any organization including alignment, execution, and connection.

FMPA, a joint action agency, currently employs 115 employees in Central Florida.

KUA received a 2024 Top Workplaces award by the Orlando Sentinel’s Top Workplaces program. KUA joined the area’s top 129 dynamic companies, which made the list based on achieving high employee satisfaction and being committed to making their company a great place to work, it noted.

KUA was one of the top ten employers in the midsize employer category.

“It’s truly humbling to receive such positive feedback from our staff members for the second consecutive year,” said KUA President and General Manager Brian Horton. “We value our commitment to creating a supportive and empowering environment for our employees.”
