Kansas Municipal Energy Agency, the Kansas Board of Public Utilities and Kansas Electric Power Cooperative Inc. have signed a power purchase agreement with Ninnescah Flats Solar LLC. 

Ninnescah Flats Solar is a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources.

Ninnescah Flats Solar Energy Center is located in Pratt County, Kansas, and has the capacity to generate up to 200 megawatts of energy. 

The facility is scheduled to begin commercial operation in 2026.

KMEA's mission involves securing reliable power resources,” said Paul Mahlberg, general manager at KMEA. “Working with the Ninnescah Flats Solar Energy Center allows us to integrate low-cost renewable energy into our portfolio, benefiting 34 of our member cities by stabilizing long-term energy costs."
