Florida public power utility JEA has begun receiving test power from the 74.9 MW Miller Solar Energy Center, JEA recently reported.
JEA entered into a purchase power agreement with Florida Renewable Partners (FRP) in 2024 to purchase renewable energy from solar facilities being constructed on JEA-owned property.
Miller is approximately 1,215 acres, with about 400 acres dedicated to solar panels. The project is continuing through testing and commissioning, including testing of its battery, before reaching commercial operation.
Construction is also underway at the 50 MW Forest Trail Solar Energy Center, with testing tentatively scheduled for late Fall.
JEA and FRP are working toward commercial operation of both facilities by the end of 2026.
