JEA lineworkers earned two second-place finishes at the International Lineman’s Rodeo in Overland Park, Kansas, last weekend, the Florida public power utility reported.

JEA journeymen Robert Hess, Cody Stokes and Caleb Macabitas secured second-place finishes in two mystery events, involving a 4-kV insulator changeout and fuse coordination.

The events tested competitors’ technical skills and problem-solving abilities as they tackled an undisclosed challenge.

The annual rodeo brought together more than 300 teams and 450 apprentices to compete in events designed to showcase their skills, strengthen their expertise and reinforce the importance of safety in every aspect of their work.
