The Jacksonville, Fla., City Council recently honored JEA lineworkers for earning top honors at APPA's 2025 Public Power Lineworkers Rodeo.
In March, JEA teams won awards in six categories at the annual competition, held in Roseville, Calif.
The event brought together electric lineworkers from 52 public power utilities across the country to demonstrate their skills and knowledge in the field of linework.

The awards included first-place Overall Apprentice for Ryan Kornegay, his third time winning that distinction on the national level.
JEA’s journeyman team -- David Hicken, Caleb Macabitas and Cody Stokes -- placed second in the Overall Journeyman Team category.
In his remarks, Council President Randy White said, “Their training and success on the national level reflect JEA’s values and commitment to our community.”
JEA Managing Director and CEO Vickie Cavey thanked Councilmembers for their recognition of lineworkers who work “day in, day out” to serve our customers.
