The Idaho Advanced Energy Consortium has issued a request for information seeking interest from communities that want to explore Small Modular Reactors and microreactors as a long-term power solution.
“IAEC provides hands-on support, from feasibility studies and site analysis to regulatory guidance and workforce development, so your community doesn't have to navigate this process alone,” it notes.
Among other things, the RFI includes a Strategic Intent section, asking why a community is interested in exploring advanced nuclear deployment, enhancing supply chain capabilities, and/or managing components of the nuclear fuel cycle.
Responses to the RFI are due July 1, 2026.
IAEC was formed in 2023 to convene energy industry stakeholders to address opportunities for
advancements in nuclear and other advanced energy systems.
