The Florida Municipal Electric Association on Oct. 5 said it is monitoring Tropical Storm Milton, which is expected to be at or near major hurricane strength as it nears Florida’s west coast on Wednesday.

A zone of 8-12 inches of rainfall is forecast where the storm is expected to make landfall and track northeast across the peninsula, with an AccuWeather Local StormMax™ of 30 inches, it said.
