The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has approved North American Electric Reliability Corporation Reliability Standard CIP-015-2, advancing efforts to strengthen visibility into potential cyber threats to the bulk power system, NERC reported on Aug. 17.

This standard is designed to improve the detection of anomalous or unauthorized internal network activity, helping entities identify and respond to potential cyber incidents, NERC said.

“As cyber risks continue to evolve, NERC remains focused on identifying emerging risks, addressing gaps in existing protections, and advancing a risk-informed approach to grid security,” NERC said.

The order is available on FERC's website.
