The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has approved North American Electric Reliability Corporation Reliability Standard EOP-004-5 to improve the reporting of events involving inverter-based resources.
This standard modifies the generation loss criteria, so it is more suitable for reporting IBR events and aligns with previous large-scale disturbances, NERC noted.
“NERC remains committed to identifying and addressing reliability gaps as IBRs, like solar, wind, and battery storage, are connected to the bulk power system,” it said.
The order is available on FERC’s website.
