The City Council for Anadarko, Okla., has unanimously approved resolutions authorizing the execution of a new power supply contract with the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority.
The agreement will take effect on August 1, 2027, marking an important milestone in the city’s continued partnership with public power, OMPA noted in its Outlet newsletter.
With the agreement approved, OMPA staff will begin the Southwest Power Pool filing process and continue working closely with the City of Anadarko on planning for its behind-the meter generation resources.
“OMPA looks forward to supporting Anadarko throughout the transition and continuing to provide reliable, cost-effective wholesale power for the community,” it said.
OMPA is a wholesale power company owned by 43 municipal electric utilities located in 29 Oklahoma counties.
