A line of storms with severe straight line winds moved across much of the AMP Member footprint earlier this month, and the cities of Amherst and Celina, Ohio, requested mutual aid after experiencing large outage events, AMP reported on June 19.
In Amherst, there were numerous downed poles and power lines, and crews from Oberlin and Wellington assisted in restoration. In Celina, there were eight poles, several transmission poles, and six 50-foot distribution feeder poles knocked down, causing widespread outages.
Electric crews from Bryan and Hamilton, Ohio, quickly responded, with Minster, Ohio, and Wapakoneta, Ohio, providing additional poles and materials needed for restoration.
"Thank you for the teamwork and support from all the responding communities," AMP said.
