The American Public Power Association elected two new members to its Board of Directors at its fall board meeting in Montreal, Quebec.

Following a thorough nomination and selection process, the APPA Board confirmed Andre Basler, director of utilities at the Port of Oakland, California, to represent Region 6. Roger Kline, general manager and CEO of Northern Wasco County People’s Utility District in The Dalles, Oregon, was selected and confirmed to represent Region 9.

These appointments fill vacancies created by Dan Beans of Roseville Electric Utility, California, who resigned his Region 6 seat due to his election as vice chair of the APPA Board of Directors, and Travis “Bear” Prairie – formerly of Idaho Falls Power (Region 9).

“We are thrilled to get to work with Andre and Roger,” said John Haarlow, APPA Board chair and CEO and general manager of Snohomish County PUD in Everett, Washington. “Their expertise and dedication to public power will be invaluable as we continue to advance the interests of our members and the communities we serve.”

APPA board members are chosen to represent 10 regions across the country.
